from Ulysses to debris

originally, I had intended to title this painting
"Singapore Waters"
then, I thought about all the weight I had been holding up lately,
and the debris that was spawned by useless thought
and decided upon the basis gathered from the tales of Ulysses

as myth is still relevant in all societies
and cultures

we are constantly in a state of change
not just us (as dysfunctional as we may be)
but all that is
just look up
our solar system
our universe
light years away from us are livable planets
with atmosphere and water
I hope that when the time arrives
and if humanity survives long enough
I hope we don't bring
heavy luggage 
travel as lightly as possible

I had a dream

. . . I was falling
falling head first with arms
stretched out like a diver
jumping from a cliff

pulsing forms of color
surrounded me, and as I
looked up, Hindu calligraphy
disguised as stars shined like gold

a calmness as Andromeda
held me in it's center
and centered I became
